King

Bobby Simmons, San Antonio Spurs

My dog King has been trained and boarded by Alex Brooks Canine Center since he was a small puppy. King had been to another facility for daycare and was deemed too aggressive. I found Alex through that facility, for training. Alex trained King to be a more social dog and a better family member. Since I must board King often I use only Alex Brooks Canine Center. King always does well there and spends his days in daycare enjoying the company of the staff and many other dogs. I know that he is loved and treated well at the center. … Click for More Info.

I’ve used Alex Brooks for both training and boarding and they have exceeded my expectations. I brought my problem dog Max to them as he was about to be euthanized for nipping my granddaughter. They taught him; they taught me. Max is like a different dog. The trainer, spent time with him in an evaluation and within minutes I could see improvement. I’m a wolfhound (very laid back, gentle breed) owner and Max is a wolfhound/terrier mix (and a terror) and I don’t think either one of us understood the other. The staff were able to make both of come … Click for More Info.

Kelly

I have been personally working with Alex Brooks and his training staff for the last two years. I began training with Alex when my rescued 2 year old boxer/pit mix began exhibiting both dog and people aggression. After a few sessions with Alex, he informed me to have my dog medically checked out, as he was “just not quite right in the head”. Unfortunately my boy was diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma. But there is good news in this story, it is a year later, my boy is still with us and doing well , and with the exceptional training … Click for More Info.

Lola

Gabriel Ortiz

When I bought Lola in 2005 I wanted to make sure she grew up to be a dog that I could have with me in any situation. Thanks to Alex, Lola has become the best dog I have ever had! I took her to Alex when she was about 8 mths old. We started in group classes for beginner than advanced obedience. During this time she also spent time in daycare to ensure good socialization since she is an American Bulldog and sometimes they are not so great with other dogs. For the last three years I have boarded Lola … Click for More Info.

It is a good sign when your dog prances into daycare never looking back. I am confident in the care and attention that the staff at Alex Brooks Canine Center gives to my dog. They report to me each day I pick him up how he did with the other dogs. It is nice to know that our dog is getting proper socialization and activity while in their care. They honestly do what is best for each dog. Their dog handlers are experts in their field and from what I can tell in my many visits, love working at Alex … Click for More Info.

Island Dog Rescues

Katie E. Block Island Dog Inc. Director/Founder

Alex and Marcy not only opened their facility to our Island Dog rescues, but they also opened their hearts. They voluntarily help give our Island Dogs a new leash on life. They have helped several of our dogs gain confidence and have taught obedience. They have also helped strengthened our foundation by enabling us to work with dogs that may have never found forever homes because of behavioral issues. Alex takes each dog as a special challenge, working individually with our dogs to determine their strengths and weaknesses. He has a gift and a way that allows the dogs to … Click for More Info.

Vick

I have two adopted x-racing greyhounds. Within weeks of adopting my first dog, I was able to train my dog to stay, come, no and down commands. My second adopted greyhound within weeks of adoption, learned stay, come and no. I was not able to train my second dog to learn the down command. Unfortunately, my second dog had negative reinforcement used while training as a racer, unlike my first dog. I had signed my dogs up for daycare, and asked about training. The Saturday before my dogs were going to be at daycare, I took my second dog in … Click for More Info.

Paula

First of all, let me just say you did an incredible job tonight at the library. I came home with several pages of notes, and worked my dogs as soon as I came in the door – walking right past them until they settled down, then calmly greeting them. They were surprised that I didn’t come in and ruff up their fur with a giant greeting, but I really think they liked this new, calmer greeting better. Secondly can I compliment you (because I didn’t get a chance yet) to say how incredible your Doggiepalooza was!? It was my first … Click for More Info.

Zoes Progress

“Last night we left Zoe home alone on the couch. We came home to a happy excited dog but from when we left she wasnt barking and when we came home she wasnt. I think I might turn on the recorder to my computer today to see what happens during the time between. The only thing was one poop not stomped in just missed the wee wee pad. This morning Zoe is lying in the corner windows in a little nook where the sun is squeezing in between the blinds, this is something I prayed for because my dog never … Click for More Info.

Pepper

Rebecca-Jane Ruppert

Last spring we decided to add a second dog to our family. Lucky for us, Alex and Marcy had the perfect little Pit in mind. Pepper has been a wonderful addition to our home. She is well-behaved, but at the same time she is a bundle of laughs. There is not one day that goes by that Pepper doesn’t have us cracking up. Whether it is playing fetch with herself, or doing leaps across the living room, she is always providing entertainment. Alex rescued Pepper and trained her to be the perfect pet. She is extremely well-behaved and does great … Click for More Info.

Alex Brooks shines at Mount Prospect Public Library

Alex Brooks would be the first to tell you that if he wasn’t working with dogs, he’d be working with kids.  But it’s a good thing he’s working with dogs, because his methods are flawless and easy to learn, helping a great amount of people, including the large audience he had Tuesday night at the Mount Prospect Library. Seymour is Perfect

Seymour, Cathy and Jay Shino

I am sure everyone writes in to say this, but even after just one visit to our home from Alex, Seymour is amazing. We plan on working with Alex some more, but already we see ahuge difference with our 4 mth old Welsh Terrier and have been happy to give Alex the credit when people stop us to comment on how nice and behaved our puppy is (and we get stopped alot!) Thanks a million. Seymour, Cathy and Jay Shino
